On the Dutch national holiday called Kings day (back then: Queens day) almost everyone in Holland cleansout their attics and sell their stuff on the streets. I rummaged to the stuffof an American girl and loved the sneakers she was selling. I happened to havethe same size, so I bought them. They were yellow/purple. Nice enough butnothing special, or so I believed. Until a few years later in October 2011, Iwas In New York City. On almost every corner I was stopped and asked about mypair of sneakers and… , did I want tosell them? My sneakers were very special, so it turned out! Recently there wasan article in the newspaper titled “the most expense sneakers ever”. On number1 Michael Jordans 1984 converse sneakers now worth….. € 158.631,-!
