For a huge AndréHazes fan (Dutch legendary singer), I was looking for a special gift. The fanwasn’t just anybody: it was my husband who was about to turn fifty. OnMarktplaats I found an oil painting of the singer, in an authentic frame for areasonable price. Asking about the story behind it, the seller turned out to bethe André Hazes’ former security guard. The painting used tohang in Hazes’ home, next to his private bar. Andrétold the body guard a fan painted it. After Hazes’ death the painting wasreturned to the fan. A few years ago, the bodyguard met the fan and asked aboutthe portrait. The fan said he could buy it, so the body guard did. Later hedecided to sell it again and that was the moment I found it. It is still one ofthe most precious items in our home and the story is….. priceless.
